Voice: 10 points

• Complete sentences

• Consistently strong and varied sentence structure and thorough paragraph development

• Sophisticated and vivid language appropriate to topic

• Clear and focused language

Stylistic: 10 points

• Correct Usage, grammar, punctuation, spelling

• Agreement (clear use of reference, subject/verb)

• Highly engaging, thoughtful

• Clearly organized ideas

• Clear and focused ideas

• Thoroughly developed topic

• Very little repetition of words

Effort: 20 points

• All drafts and prewriting turned in and done well

• Strong effort is shown in peer reviewing sessions

• Recommendations from previous papers have been worked on

• Interesting title

• This is a holistic grade based on the general strength of paper

• Any mechanical problems that extend beyond the allowable points in other categories

• Late point deduction
